August has arrived and that means it’s a brand new month. This is a chance to give myself another opportunity to finally be on track to living the life of my dreams. I’ve wasted far too much time and energy procrastinating and letting negativity get the best of me. I’m surrounding myself in light and positivity. I’m making the commitment to always strive to be a better person. I know I’m not perfect and I’m sure I’ll stumble many times along the way, but I intend to keep trying and never give up hope that someday I’ll become the person God meant me to be.

I don’t want to believe it, but it’s true. Michael Jackson a.k.a. “The King of Pop” has died. There’s a lot of confusion and many unanswered questions surrounding his death. I feel overwhelmed with sadness right now. I grew up listening to Michael Jackson’s music from when he was a member of the Jackson Five and throughout his solo career. I was lucky enough to see him live in concert at the Aloha Stadium back in 1997. My heart goes out to the Jackson family and most especially to Michael’s children.

Six years ago today my beloved “Twilight Saga” began with a dream that Stephenie Meyer had and myself along with at least a million other Twilighters around the world are definitely grateful for that. Although I’m not a newbie to this phenomenon anymore, I’m still pretty much a freshie compared to the majority of Twi-hards, but I like to think I make up for that through my passion for the the novels and my devotion to the characters, most especially Edward of course. I find it amusing how I had resisted the temptation of being seduced into the Twilight Saga world for those few months after I had first heard about the books. At the time I had thought that Twilight was a teenage fad and I didn’t want any part of it because vampires just aren’t my thing. It took a combination of seeing the trailer for the movie and a lot of nudging from my friends to convince me to give Twilight a chance. Once I took a bite from that apple I became a full-fledged Twilight Saga fanpire and will remain one for all eternity.

It’s “Music Monday” here at Serendipulous and my pick for today is “Note To God” by the one and only Charice Pempengco. I’m more than proud of her not just because of the amazing talent she possesses, but most especially for being such an inspiration and positive role model. The video below tells you more about Charice and shows her performing on the Oprah Show.

I think I’ve died and gone to heaven again. I just finished watching the first official trailer for “New Moon”. OME! It was absolutely incredible and positively amazing! I started crying in the beginning and by the time it ended I was screaming with excitement. It was heart-breaking to watch the clip of Edward leaving Bella. I know I’m going to have to bring a lot of kleenex with me because I’m definitely going to be bawling my eyes out during that part of the movie. I was unbelievably astonished by the CGI for Jacob’s transformation from human to werewolf. That segment was totally awesome! This trailer was well worth waiting for. I’m hoping there will be a few more “New Moon” trailers to enjoy just like there were for the Twilight movie. I’m beyond anxious and excited for November 20th.

After watching Entertainment Tonight’s 15 second sneak peek of the “New Moon” trailer on its website numerous times, I’m absolutely looking forward to seeing the entire movie trailer on Sunday at the MTV Movie Awards. The fact that many of the cast are going to the awards show and the three main stars of the film (Robert, Kristen and Taylor) are going to be introducing the trailer is definitely making me anticipate Sunday’s arrival even more.

Summit has finally released something new for us Twilighters (especially those of us on either Team Edward or Team Jacob) to sink our teeth into. This really kicks off the beginning of official anticipation of “New Moon” for me. I know they’ve been filming the movie for the past few weeks and I’ve been keeping up-to-date with that, but this poster has definitely set the wheels in motion for a whirlwind of a ride that will end when “New Moon” opens in theaters on November 20th.

I just finished watching my new favorite TV show that’s now only viewable as reruns. I discovered “Moonlight” the evening of April 22nd as I was channel surfing for something good to watch on TV. Sci-Fi was showing a marathon of “Moonlight” episodes and I just happened to turn to that TV channel during one of those shows. I was delightfully surprised to find a drama about a vampire named Mick St. John (portrayed by debonairly handsome Alex O’Loughlin) who is a lot like an older Edward Cullen to me. I was so excited because I thought I had stumbled upon a TV program that I could actually get into. To my disappointment I realized that “Moonlight” wasn’t a current show on the Sci-Fi Channel. It turned out to be a TV program that CBS canceled after only one season (Fall 2007-Spring 2008) and whose reruns are being featured on Sci-Fi now. In spite of that major letdown, I did manage to find and purchase the complete “Moonlight” series on DVD so that I can watch any of the episodes I want whenever I feel like it.

NKOTB was on The Today Show this morning and seeing them performing on the TV brought back so many fond memories of them. It seems like only yesterday I was 19 and I dragged my best friend Kalani to go see The New Kids on the Block with me at Aloha Tower. It was the first time I saw them perform a live show. The guys were still in their teens and fairly unknown, but they were starting to make a name for themselves. I remember sitting on the side of the stage because earlier I had fainted in the crowd and security let me stay there to watch the concert. That night I became a lifetime fan of theirs and Jonathan captured my heart forever. A little over two months later I had the opportunity to travel to most of the Hawaiian Islands to watch their concerts on Oahu, The Big Island and Kauai. I also had the chance to meet all of the guys and their Moms (except Joe’s). Those couple of days were the most fun and truly memorable experiences of my young adulthood. It’s hard to believe that was over 20 years ago. A lot has changed in my life and yet so much is still the same. I never stopped being a NKOTB fan and even now Jonathan still holds a special place in my heart.

Greetings to everyone on the world wide web and welcome to the premiere of my new blogsite ~ Serendipulous! It’s been awhile since I’ve done the blogging thing. My last endeavor in that was pinay.ws which I gave up in late 2007. I recently started missing being a part of the blogosphere and decided to take the necessary steps to get myself in the groove again. So here I am with a new domain, a positive attitude and good intentions. It feels great to be back.
